Out with the Rare, in with the Nobody. Leeds’s newest spot has opened on Lower Briggate and is offering something a bit different for this part of town. Rather than the noisy clubby vibe of nearby Fibre and Queens Court, Mr Nobody aims for a relaxed atmosphere, tastefully and simply decorated, with a handful of little nooks to squirrel away and enjoy a quiet drink.

The nicely decked-out bar offers a slew of cocktails and a handful of tasty beers.

The beer selection is modestly small, but full of things that you don’t see everywhere: three Alphabet brews on tap, three bottled Einstocks, a couple of Roosters cans plus Pabst Blue Ribbon (for the non-discerning drinker). And at £4 each, the value is decent, considering the selection and the neighbourhood.

They have a full seating area downstairs where you can enjoy drinks or food. The gastro-hipster menu includes things such as “Cacklebean egg and chorizo,” “Smoked cod’s roe on toast,” and “Burger.” We’ll definitely be back sometime to sample the food.

We loved pretty much everything about Mr Nobody. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and we predict this spot is going to thrive. Its focal point is cocktails but the beers are distinct enough for us and the atmosphere really can’t be beat. It wasn’t too crowded when we visited, but we reckon that’s just because nobody knows about Mr Nobody yet. We also reckon that’s about to change.
